Contact Energy Posts Higher Retail Electricity, Gas Sales in December 2025

Contact Energy (NZE:CEN, ASX:CEN) said retail mass-market electricity and gas sales increased year on year in December 2025, alongside a rise in wholesale contracted electricity sales, according to a Thursday filing with the Australian and New Zealand bourses.

Mass market electricity sales rose to 250 gigawatt hours (GWh) in December 2025 from 239 GWh in the prior corresponding period.

Retail gas sales rose to 90 GWh from 35 GWh. Wholesale contracted electricity sales increased to 950 GWh from 699 GWh a year earlier.

Wholesale electricity sales to customer businesses fell to 261 GWh from 263 GWh, while sales to commercial and industrial customers were up to 199 GWh from 131 GWh.

Wholesale spot electricity sales fell to 662 GWh from 765 GWh.
