Aris Mining said Ian Telfer has stepped down as chairman and retired from the gold miner's board.

Aris on Thursday said its founder and chief executive, Neil Woodyer, has taken on the additional post of chairman, while board member David Garofalo will now serve as lead independent director.

Telfer, who had been chairman since February 2021, will remain in an advisory capacity, the company said.

Aris said Doug Bowlby, previously executive vice president, will now serve as president as part of an executive realignment that also includes the elimination of the position of chief operating officer and the departure of Richard Thomas, who had held the post.
