Singapore Dollar Steady Amid Reduced U.S.-Europe Tensions Over Greenland -- Market Talk

Dow Jones01-22 10:38

0238 GMT - The Singapore dollar is steady against its U.S. counterpart in the Asian session, amid reduced U.S.-Europe tensions over Greenland following President Trump's remarks overnight. However, despite de-escalation of these tensions, "confidence in U.S. policy has been undeniably dented," DBS Group Research's Chang Wei Liang says in commentary. "This could lead to a broader reallocation from U.S. assets and weigh on the USD's longer-term prospects," the FX and credit strategist says. USD/SGD is little changed at 1.2845, LSEG data show.
