DAVOS: BBVA Chair Sees Opportunity in Venezuela -- Market Talk

Dow Jones01-22 18:29

1028 GMT - There is now a winnable opportunity in Venezuela, following the ousting of the country's leader at the start of the month, BBVA's Chair Carlos Torres Vila says in an interview with CNBC at the World Economic Forum at Davos, Switzerland. The Spanish bank has been present in Venezuela for almost three decades and has significant market share. "We're looking ahead with hope of normalization of the country, which will bring good opportunity for everyone in Venezuela...as investment will be coming in," the executive says. We need to be patient in order to see a significant lift though, given that uncertainty needs to abate for more companies to come in and feel that the conditions are there, he says.
