Health-care companies slipped as traders hedged their bets on the outlook for earnings in the sector. UnitedHealth Group, the largest health insurer by enrollees, slipped ahead of its earnings report Tuesday.
Health insurers' stocks have faced volatility amid doubts about the viability of their business models due to aging enrollees, populist outcry and rising medical costs.
French drug maker said its amlitelimab drug confirmed its potential to treat eczema in two late-phase clinical trials.
