Dow Jones00:09

1109 ET - OpenAI is confident its users will continue coming directly to its app even as Google begins to offer its Gemini AI model on Apple products, OpenAI CFO Sarah Friar says in a CNBC interview at Davos. "People are coming direct to ChatGPT as the brand they trust from an AI perspective," Friar says. She says that ChatGPT has more than tripled its users in the past year, adding that users are pursuing deeper uses of the technology. "We've become the noun and the verb," Friar says. She describes Apple as an "amazing distribution partners," noting OpenAI's own partnership with Apple for Siri, "but we think we need to be broad on that distribution spectrum, because users want to be able to use their technology on whatever device they have."
