Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison said Sunday he was among local, state and federal officials who met with Vice President JD Vance when he was in Minneapolis on Thursday. Ellison said he left the meeting fearing nothing had been accomplished.
"I guess it didn't work," Ellison told reporters when asked about a meeting where the vice president said he was trying to lower the political temperature. "It was a polite meeting. I can also tell you that I walked out of there thinking that we probably weren't going to get anywhere."
Ellison added: "I tried to correct him. He didn't want to hear that."
