10:23 ET--Otis' 4Q report was "a miss across the board," JPMorgan analysts say in a research note. The maker of elevators and escalators notches lower-than-expected profit and sales, as new-equipment orders remain sluggish. And while modernization services continue to boom, new figures show a slight slowdown. A slowdown would be worrying, the analysts say, noting modernization trends will likely be a key question of the earnings call. On the bright side, though, the analysts note Otis' backlog is trending in the right direction, and as a result, its weak 2026 outlook could prove to be conservative. Shares fall 4.5%.
