MT Newswires Live01-26

Ecopetrol (EC) said late Friday that Colombian tax authorities have confirmed a 5.3 trillion-Colombian-peso ($1.48 billion) tax assessment against the company.

The amount relates to certain value-added taxes on gasoline imports and a penalty accrued between 2022 and 2024, the company said.

Ecopetrol said it plans to pursue the appropriate legal action to challenge the ruling.
