Beacon Minerals (ASX:BCN) completed the first blast at its Lady Ida-Iguana operations in Western Australia on Jan. 24, securing 20,000 tonnes of laterite ore for the project, according to a Tuesday filing with the Australian bourse.
The second and third blasts will be conducted over the coming week for the build-up of ore ready for load and haul operations, with first ore to be mined from the pit early next month, the filing said.
Meanwhile, construction work of the mining workshop and offices is in progress and on track for completion in March, per the filing.
Shares fell nearly 1% in morning trade Tuesday.
