Sector Update: Consumer Stocks Decline Pre-Bell Monday

Consumer stocks were declining pre-bell Monday, with the State Street Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLP) marginally lower and the State Street Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLY) down 0.2%.

Marriott International (MAR) said it recorded net rooms growth of 4.3% in 2025, adding more than 700 properties and nearly 100,000 rooms to its system. Marriott International shares were 0.6% lower premarket.

Royal Caribbean's (RCL) RCL Cruises UK subsidiary and MSC Cruises have received European Commission approval to create a joint venture mainly related to the construction and management of a new cruise terminal in the port of Kagoshima in Japan, the commission said. Royal Caribbean stock was down 0.4% pre-bell.

Hilton Worldwide (HLT) reported a 2025 net unit growth of 6.7%. Hilton Worldwide shares were 0.4% lower premarket.
