Philippines' Total External Trade Rises 13% in December 2025; Trade Deficit Narrows 15%

The Philippines' total external trade in goods rose 13% to $17.51 billion in December 2025 from $15.49 billion a year earlier, according to preliminary data released by the Philippine Statistics Authority on Tuesday.

Exports jumped 23.3% year on year to $6.99 billion from $5.67 billion, while imports increased 7.1% to $10.52 billion, accounting for 60.1% of total trade.

This brought the country's trade balance to a deficit of $3.52 billion, narrowing 15% from the year-ago period.

Electronic products remained the Philippines' top export, totaling $4.04 billion and making up 57.8% of the country's total exports during the month, the PSA said.
