Lyft (LYFT) is launching a new service called Lyft Teen, which is aimed at providing rideshare services for teenagers, Bloomberg reported Tuesday.
The service will match passengers with drivers who have high ratings, and will require PIN authentication to confirm riders get in the right car, Bloomberg reported, citing a statement from Chief Executive David Risher.
The new service was included in the code supporting the most recent version of Lyft's smartphone app, which was uncovered by Bloomberg, the outlet reported.
Lyft didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
Shares of Lyft were down 2% in recent trading.
