Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison said on Sunday he is worried evidence will be lost in the investigation into the fatal shooting of Alex Pretti by U.S. immigration officials because of a lack of cooperation from federal officials.

"I am deeply concerned about the preservation of evidence, which is why we went to court last night," Ellison said, noting the state's win of a temporary restraining order to prevent federal agencies from tampering with or destroying evidence.

State criminal investigators on Sunday morning were on the scene of Saturday's shooting and collected evidence and canvassed the neighborhood for witness information, state officials said.
