Infineon to Gain From Increased Analog Momentum -- Market Talk

Dow Jones01-28

1419 GMT - Infineon will benefit from a resurgence in demand for analog semiconductor chips, Quilter Cheviot analyst Ben Barringer says. U.S. peer Texas Instruments issued an encouraging quarterly forecast Tuesday driven by artificial-intelligence data center demand, which require analog chips. Infineon already supplies materials for Nvidia's data centers, Barringer notes. In an earnings call, TI management said market recovery was underway, noting automotive demand for chips is close to 2023 peaks. Infineon, which analysts at Citi note derives around 50% of its revenue from the automotive sector, stands to benefit from this recovery. Shares in the German chip maker rise 4%, leading the German DAX. (josephmichael.stonor@wsj.com)
