Popular Shares Climb on Higher 4Q Profit

Shares of Popular jumped after the company posted a higher profit in its fourth fiscal quarter.

The stock rose 5% in Tuesday afternoon trading, on pace for its largest percent increase since April 2025. The shares have climbed 24% in the last year.

The banking and financial services company reported fourth-quarter earnings of $233.9 million, or $3.53 per share, compared with $177.8 million, or $2.51 per share, a year earlier.

The results exceeded Wall Street expectations of $3.04 cents per share, according to FactSet.

For the full year 2025, Popular posted a profit of $833.2 million, compared with $614.2 million in 2024. Analysts polled by FactSet were looking for $800 million.
