Image credit: Xpeng)\nXpeng (NYSE: XPEV, HKG: 9868) has commenced pre-sales in China for the battery electric vehicle (BEV) variant of the X9, following the rollout of an extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) version for the multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) two months ago.\nThe company began accepting consumer reservations for the 2026 seven-seat X9 BEV on Thursday, offering five variants: 665 Max, 650 Ultra SE, 650 Ultra, 750 Ultra, and 710 AWD Ultra.\nThe company has not disclosed pre-sales pricing. Consumers can place an order for the X9 BEV with a RMB 2,000 ($290) deposit, which will be applied as a RMB 7,000 discount toward the purchase price.\n\n\nJoin us on \nTelegram\n or \nGoogle News\n\n\nThe 2026 X9 BEV is the world's longest-range pure-electric seven-seater, with a maximum CLTC range of 750 km, the company said.\nThe 2026 X9 BEV is built on an 800-volt platform and features a battery supporting 5C supercharging.\nIt delivers class-leading energy efficiency with a CLTC energy consumption of 15.9 kWh per 100 kilometers, according to Xpeng.\nThe vehicle comes standard with the in-house developed Turing AI chip powering its smart driving features, delivering an effective computing power of up to 2250 TOPS.\nXpeng has not provided further details on the Turing AI chip's usage in the X9, though it is expected to follow the strategy adopted when updating four other models earlier this month.\nOn January 8, the company launched the 2026 P7+ sedan, along with the 2026 G6 and G9 SUVs, and added EREV options for the G7 SUV. All these models come standard with one Turing AI chip, while consumers can pay extra to upgrade to stronger smart driving systems utilizing up to three such chips.\nThe X9 was initially launched in China on January 1, 2024, as Xpeng's first MPV model, available only as a BEV at that time.\nOn November 20 last year, the company launched the extended-range X9 MPV, its first EREV model, starting at RMB 309,800.\nThe 2025 X9 BEV went on sale in April 2025 with a starting price of RMB 359,800.\nThe X9 delivered 26,017 units throughout 2025, accounting for 6.06% of Xpeng's total deliveries,
