In order to justify its P/E ratio, Vitesse Energy would need to produce outstanding growth well in excess of the market.   Retrospectively, the last year delivered a frustrating 62% decrease to the company's bottom line.   Still, the latest three year period has seen an excellent 198% overall rise in EPS, in spite of its unsatisfying short-term performance.  So we can start by confirming that the company has generally done a very good job of growing earnings over that time, even though it had some hiccups along the way.     Turning to the outlook, the next year should bring diminished returns, with earnings decreasing 35%  as estimated by the two analysts watching the company.  That's not great when the rest of the market is expected to grow by 16%.  In light of this, it's alarming that Vitesse Energy's P/E sits above the majority of other companies.  Apparently many investors in the company reject the analyst cohort's pessimism and aren't willing to let go of their stock at any price.
