8:56 ET -- Charter notched video subscriber gains in the fourth quarter, but that positive momentum is unlikely to offset the challenges it's facing in broadband, say Oppenheimer analysts Timothy Horan and Daniel McDermott. Those video gains are coming at the cost of margins and average revenue per user, while broadband subscribers continue to decline. "We think it will be difficult for CHTR to grow its broadband base in the next few years given ramping competition from [fixed wireless], fiber and satellite," the analysts say. "Moreover, it will have limited ability to offset this competition and grow revenue and margins through [average revenue per user] expansion." (nicholas.miller@wsj.com)
