LG Uplus to Join National Police Agency's Voice Wanted Campaign

LG Uplus (KRX:032640) plans to participate in the National Police Agency's Voice Wanted campaign, a national reporting campaign that collects voice phishing criminals' voices, carries out voiceprint analysis to identify the criminals, and accordingly uses this data.

The National Police Agency's telecommunications and financial fraud integrated response team will carry out the aforementioned tasks, LG Uplus said in a Tuesday release.

LG U+ and the National Police Agency will establish a joint response system, including technological collaboration to prevent voice phishing crimes and share the voices and data of suspected voice phishing criminals collected via Ixio, the AI calling app, the release said.

Shares of LG Uplus rose nearly 1% in recent trade.
