Boeing (BA) still has work to do before it can fully regain the authority to certify its own aircraft, Federal Aviation Administration chief Bryan Bedford said Monday, Bloomberg reported.
"They need to do more and we're working with them to help them get where they need to go," Bedford said in Singapore at an industry conference ahead of Asia's largest air show, adding that the company is making "great progress."
Bedford said the FAA is seeking to eventually return final safety-check duties to Boeing while positioning its inspectors deeper within the company's production facilities.
Boeing did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
