The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq seesawed between gains and losses on Monday, as markets absorbed a sharp selloff in precious metals at the start of a week packed with corporate earnings and key economic data. .N

At 10:30 EST, the Dow Jones Industrial Average .DJI was up 0.70% at 49,230.14. The S&P 500 .SPX was up 0.45% at 6,970.34, and the Nasdaq Composite .IXIC was up 0.61% at 23,605.96.
