0242 GMT - Singapore banks are likely to post mixed 4Q results, says Maybank Securities head of research Thilan Wickramasinghe. United Overseas Bank is expected to post earnings growth off a low on-quarter base, while DBS Group and Oversea-Chinese Banking Corp may see flat to weaker results. Net interest income should hold steady, supported by loan growth and liquidity inflows, he says. However, noninterest income is likely to soften due to seasonally weaker wealth management activity. "DBS and OCBC have higher upside risks for dividend surprises given strong capital buffers and write-backs," Wickramasinghe says. Maybank maintains a positive view on Singapore banks.
