Honda Motor (HMC) is partnering with Mythic to develop artificial intelligence chips for deployment in next-generation vehicles in the late 2020s or early 2030s, the AI computing firm said Friday.
The Japanese automaker's research and development division will license Mythic's Analog Processing Unit, or APU, technology to support advanced driver-assistance systems and autonomous features in Honda's software-defined vehicles, Mythic said.
Mythic said the goal is to bolster on-board AI offerings while reducing power consumption using its energy-efficient technology.
Shares of Honda rose around 4.3% in recent Friday trading.
