AerCap unlikely to order new jets from planemakers in near term, CEO says

DUBLIN, Feb 6 (Reuters) - The head of the world's largest aircraft leasing company, AerCap AER.N, said it appeared unlikely it would order new jets from major planemakers in the near term, noting that it added 103 aircraft to its orderbook via other avenues last year.

"It has to be on terms that make sense for our customers and I do think just a bilateral, straight up deal, it's hard to see how that will add value at the moment, given the duration of when you deliver this stuff," Aengus Kelly told an analyst call after the company reported record full year earnings and boosted dividends on Friday.
