The broad market exchange-traded fund SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (SPY) was down 0.1% and the actively traded Invesco QQQ Trust (QQQ) was 0.1% lower in Monday's premarket activity, ahead of a week of crucial data releases.
US stock futures were also lower, with S&P 500 Index futures down 0.1%, Dow Jones Industrial Average futures slipping 0.1%, and Nasdaq futures retreating 0.3% before the start of regular trading.
In premarket activity, bitcoin was down by 2.5%. Among cryptocurrency ETFs, the cryptocurrency fund ProShares Bitcoin Strategy ETF (BITO) was 1.6% lower, Ether ETF (EETH) retreated 0.8%, and Bitcoin & Ether Market Cap Weight ETF (BETH) declined by 0.9%.

Health Care
The State Street Health Care Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLV) advanced 0.2%. The Vanguard Health Care Index Fund (VHT) gained 0.4%, while the iShares US Healthcare ETF (IYH) increased 0.2%. The iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) was down 1.1%.
Hims & Hers (HIMS) stock fell more than 20%, while Novo Nordisk (NVO) shares were 5% higher premarket after Novo said it has filed a lawsuit against Hims & Hers for alleged patent infringement after marketing its version of Novo's weight-loss pill.

Technology
The State Street Technology Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLK) retreated 0.1%, and the iShares US Technology ETF (IYW) was 0.4% higher, while the iShares Expanded Tech Sector ETF (IGM) was down 0.02%. Among semiconductor ETFs, the State Street SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF (XSD) advanced by 0.1%, while the iShares Semiconductor ETF (SOXX) declined by 0.4%.
Monday.com (MNDY) shares were down more than 15% in recent premarket activity after the company reported lower Q4 non-GAAP net income.
Financial
The State Street Financial Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLF) advanced 0.04%. Direxion Daily Financial Bull 3X Shares (FAS) was up 0.2%, while its bearish counterpart Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ) was 0.2% lower.
NatWest Group (NWG) shares were down more than 7% pre-bell after the company said it has agreed to acquire wealth manager Evelyn Partners from funds advised by Permira and Warburg Pincus for an enterprise value of about 2.70 billion British pounds ($3.67 billion).
Consumer
The State Street Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLP) gained marginally by 0.04%, while the Vanguard Consumer Staples Index Fund ETF Shares (VDC) declined 0.02%. The iShares US Consumer Staples ETF (IYK) was inactive. The State Street Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLY) advanced 0.6%. The VanEck Retail ETF (RTH) was inactive, while the State Street SPDR S&P Retail ETF (XRT) increased by 0.01%.
Kroger (KR) shares were up more than 5% pre-bell after the company named former Walmart (WMT) executive Greg Foran as chief executive. Walmart stock retreated by 0.2%.
Industrial
The State Street Industrial Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLI) advanced 0.04%, the Vanguard Industrials Index Fund (VIS) fell 1.5%, and the iShares US Industrials ETF (IYJ) was marginally lower by 0.03%.
Manitowoc (MTW) stock was down more than 1% before the opening bell after the company said its subsidiary MGX Equipment Services has completed a dealer agreement with road load-handling firm Hiab, covering 13 US states.
Energy
The iShares US Energy ETF (IYE) advanced marginally by 0.02%, while the State Street Energy Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLE) was up by 0.3%.
Cmb.Tech (CMBT) stock was up more than 1% before Monday's opening bell after the company said it had sold two vessels, generating a capital gain of about $98.2 million.
Commodities
Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was flat at $63.57 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Natural gas fell by 6.5% to $3.20 per 1 million British Thermal Units. The United States Oil Fund (USO) gained by 0.3%, while the United States Natural Gas Fund (UNG) was 6.7% lower.
Gold futures for March were up by 1.2% at $5,037.10 an ounce on the Comex. Silver futures rose 4% to $79.96 an ounce. SPDR Gold Shares (GLD) advanced by 1.3%, and the iShares Silver Trust (SLV) increased by 3.8%.
