Portillo's has hired Brett Patterson as its next chief executive, effective Feb. 23.
Patterson, who was most recently CEO of Miller's Ale House, is expected to succeed Michael A. Miles Jr., who was appointed as the fast-casual restaurant chain's interim chief in September 2025 following Michael Osanloo's departure.
Before heading up Miller's Ale House in September 2024, Patterson was an executive at Bloomin Brands' Outback Steakhouse, and prior to that, held a leadership role at Ruby Tuesday.
Chicago-based Portillo's offer letter to Patterson includes a base salary of $800,000, plus a discretionary annual bonus target of 100% of that base pay. He is also entitled to stock rewards and other compensation.
