DigitalBridge Group (DBRG) on Friday secured European Union antitrust approval for its acquisition of joint control of NIAL Group, the operator of Newcastle International Airport in the UK, alongside Aena Desarollo Internacional SME SA and Newcastle Airport Local Authority Holding.
The clearance was granted by the European Commission, which concluded that the transaction would not raise competition concerns within the European Economic Area, citing the absence of significant horizontal overlaps or vertical relationships among the parties, according to the EU.
The Commission also approved Aena's separate acquisition of sole control of Leeds Bradford International Airport Limited.
