U.S. Natural Gas Futures Steady in Early Trade -- Market Talk

Dow Jones02-20 22:20

0920 ET - U.S. natural gas futures are steady following three sessions of losses with a coming brief cold spell offering some short-term support for the next few days. "National demand increases to stronger levels this weekend into the start of next week as a frosty weather system sweeps across the northern, central and eastern U.S.," NatGasWeather.com says in a note. Some overnight weather data was a little colder for early March, but "clearly, colder trends and a cold enough pattern is going to be needed if a weather driven rally is to occur." Nymex natural gas is up 0.1% at $2.998/mmBtu.(anthony.harrup@wsj.com)
