StoneX sees Brazil diesel imports rising to new record in 2026

RIO DE JANEIRO, Feb 19 (Reuters) - Brazilian imports of pure diesel were estimated at 17.8 million cubic meters this year, a 2.4% increase from an already record level in 2025, according to a report from consultancy firm StoneX on Thursday.

  • StoneX's base scenario is that the mandatory percentage of biofuels required in diesel sold by distributors in Brazil will remain at 15% this year.

  • In an alternative scenario, with the percentage rising to 16% in the second half of the year, pure diesel imports would reach some 17.4 million cubic meters in 2026, up 0.4% from 2025.
