U.S. Natural Gas Futures Start Week Lower -- Market Talk

Dow Jones02-17

0852 ET - U.S. natural gas futures are lower as weather forecasts turned warmer over the long weekend, lowering the outlook for demand except for a brief cold spell next week. "Bearish caution surrounding another cold shot into early next week may postpone a selloff," Eli Rubin of EBW Analytics says in a note. But "chances for a late-winter run higher are fading, and risks for another mild spring threaten sub-$3.00/mmBtu gas prices in the early injection season." Nymex natural gas is off 4.4% at $3.101/mmBtu.(anthony.harrup@wsj.com)
