European equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were rising on Wednesday morning, up 1.28% to 1,858.13 on the S&P Europe Select ADR Index.
From continental Europe, the gainers were led by energy company Equinor (EQNR) and semiconductor firm ASML (ASML), which rose 3.4% and 3.3% respectively. They were followed by clinical-stage biotech company Abivax (ABVX) and bank Banco Santander (SAN), which added 2.9% and 2.5%, respectively.
The decliners from continental Europe were led by clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company Agomab Therapeutics (AGMB) and online shopping company LuxExperience (LUXE), which fell 5.4% and 5.2%, respectively. They were followed by healthcare company Fresenius (FMS), which was down 2.6%.
From the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by pharmaceutical company Compass Pathways (CMPS) and software development firm Endava (DAVA), which gained 9.8% and 3.7% respectively.
The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by clinical diagnostic products provider Trinity Biotech (TRIB) and pharmaceutical company Silence Therapeutics (SLN), which shed 3.3% and 3.2% respectively.
