B2Gold Says CEO Clive Johnson to Retire, Mike Cinnamond Named Successor

B2Gold (BTG) said Monday that President and Chief Executive Clive Johnson will retire from his roles at the annual general meeting scheduled for June 4.

The board has named Chief Financial Officer Mike Cinnamond as new president and CEO, effective June 4, B2Gold said, adding that Cinnamond will also assume Johnson's seat on the board as director. Cinnamond joined B2Gold in 2013 and was appointed as CFO in 2014, the company said.

The board also named Michael McDonald as new CFO, starting June 4, while board Chair Kelvin Dushnisky transitions to the executive chair role, effective immediately.

Shares of the company were up 1.4% in recent Monday premarket activity.
