Appliance maker Whirlpool says it will still have an advantage over its foreign rivals, even after the Supreme Court struck down much of President Trump's aggressive tariff regimen.
The Michigan-based company produces most of its U.S.-bound products domestically, in contrast to its mostly Asian rivals. For months, it has said its U.S. factories would give it a competitive edge, but following the court's decision, Whirlpool shares fell by more than 5% before recovering a bit.
The company noted that steel tariffs and other duties on imported appliances remain in place. Whirlpool said those measures, along with the 10% global tariff Trump announced Friday, gave it confidence that it would ultimately benefit from the administration's trade policies.
