Tariff Ruling Seen Positive for Some Retailers, Mixed for Others -- Market Talk

Dow Jones02:20

1319 ET - The Supreme Court's rejection of President Trump's tariffs should be a positive development for a number of retailers, but could have mixed effects for others, Mizuho analysts say in a note. The ruling should benefit Wayfair, Five Below and Target, which have been most at risk, they say, given they source much of their product outside the U.S. Walmart and Costco, meanwhile, could see their price gaps versus smaller players start to compress, they say. The ruling will have mixed effects for Home Depot, Lowe's and Floor & Decor as rates rise, they add. (kelly.cloonan@wsj.com)
