Turkey - Factors to Watch on Feb 26

ISTANBUL, Feb 26 (Reuters) - Here are news, reports and events that may affect Turkish financial markets on Thursday.

The lira TRYTOM=D3 was quoted at 43.8850 against the U.S. dollar at 0450 GMT, after closing at 43.8705 on Wednesday.

The BIST 100 index closed at 13,809.88 points on Wednesday, down 1.71% from the previous session's close.

GLOBAL MARKETS

Asian stocks advanced on Thursday after upbeat earnings from Nvidia soothed concerns over AI-driven disruption and rising costs, while the yen was in the doldrums, bogged down by a murky rate outlook in Japan.

ERDOGAN PROGRAMME

President Tayyip Erdogan will attend a fast-breaking dinner with KYK students, athletes and youth. (1543 GMT)

VICE PRESIDENT

Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz will attend a fast-breaking dinner hosted by the Anadolu Aslanlari Isadamlari Dernegi (ASKON) in Istanbul. (1530 GMT)

ENVIRONMENT MINISTER

Environment, Urbanisation and Climate Change Minister Murat Kurum will address a COP31 civil society consultation meeting. (1100 GMT)

TRADE MINISTER

Trade Minister Omer Bolat will attend the 7th Turkey-Azerbaijan-Georgia Business Forum in Telavi, Georgia.

MAIN OPPOSITION PARTY
