Alphabet's (GOOG, GOOGL) Google is set to start testing changes to its search results to give rivals more visibility in an effort to avoid a fine from the European Union, Reuters reported Wednesday, citing a person with direct knowledge of the matter.
EU regulators had charged the tech giant with breaching the Digital Markets Act by allegedly favoring its own services in searches for hotels, flights and restaurants, the report said.
Google didn't immediately reply to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
