Xpel Slips After 4Q Revenue Misses Estimates

Shares of Xpel fell after the company's fourth-quarter revenue fell short of Wall Street expectations.

The stock was down 11%, at $45.06, Wednesday afternoon. Shares have gained 12% over the past year.

The maker of protective films and coatings reported a profit of $13.4 million, or 48 cents a share, compared with a profit of $8.9 million, or 32 cents a share, a year earlier. Analysts polled by FactSet were expecting 45 cents a share.

Revenue rose to $122.3 million, up from $107.5 million a year ago but behind analysts' expectations of $125 million, according to FactSet.

For the current quarter, the San Antonio company is projecting revenue between $112 million and $114 million.
