5E Advanced Metals (ASX:5EA) began trials to evaluate the production of magnet-grade ferroboron, a ferrous iron-boron alloy, according to a Thursday Australian bourse filing.
It identified two reduction-oxidation-based process routes to evaluate ferroboron production in laboratory conditions, leveraging its planned domestic boric acid production as a secure upstream supply.
It plans to supply initial samples meeting specifications to potential customers for evaluation and initial qualification in the first half.
Its shares jumped 6% in recent trading on Thursday.
