Bloomin' Sees Higher Guest Satisfaction Ratings, Traffic Amid Turnaround -- Market Talk

0927 ET - Bloomin' Brands is seeing continued improvements in guest satisfaction ratings and traffic gains, underscoring that its turnaround efforts are working, CEO Mike Spanos says on a call with analysts. The parent company of Outback Steakhouse and Carrabba's Italian Grill has been making targeted investments in guest experience and food, such as improving steak quality at Outback. Spanos notes that while overall comparable sales were flat in 4Q, U.S. traffic was up 50 basis points. "We were pleased with our fourth-quarter results and the steady gains we are seeing on traffic growth," Spanos says. Bloomin' Brands climbs 5.6% premarket.(connor.hart@wsj.com)
