J.M. Smucker (SJM) is likely to focus more on organic growth, cost savings, and be more flexible with portfolio reshaping after Elliott Investment Management's involvement in the recent appointment of two new independent directors, RBC Capital Markets said in a Friday research note.

The company's fiscal Q3 sales beat was driven by robust organic growth of the US retail coffee segment, RBC said. The brokerage lowered its fiscal 2026 organic sales growth guidance to 5.3% from 5.7% but boosted its EPS forecast to $9 from $8.95, analysts wrote.

The company's current valuation does not give enough credit to its brands, resulting in a risk-to-reward that skews positive, according to the note.

The brokerage said it reiterated its outperform rating on the stock and price target of $130 per share.
