Consumer stocks were mixed pre-bell Wednesday, with the State Street Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLP) down 0.1% and the State Street Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLY) 0.1% higher.
Lowe's (LOW) stock was down more than 3% after the company issued fiscal 2026 adjusted earnings per share guidance below analysts' consensus.
Diageo (DEO) shares were down more than 11% after the company reported lower fiscal H1 adjusted earnings and net sales, and cut its fiscal 2026 organic net sales growth outlook.
Dole (DOLE) shares were down more than 3% after the company posted a decline in Q4 adjusted earnings.
