US Cash Grains-Soybean, corn steady-higher amid contract roll

CHICAGO, Feb 27 (Reuters) - Basis bids for soybeans and corn were mostly flat to higher across the U.S. Midwest on Friday as merchandisers rolled positions to the May corn contract CK26 and the May soybean contract SK26 ahead of the expiration of the March contract.

The corn basis rose at an Illinois river terminal and fell at an Ohio elevator and an Iowa processor.
The soybean basis rose at an Ohio elevator and an Illinois river terminal.
Expectations of more export and biofuel demand for U.S. soybeans have supported basis bids.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture reported exporters sold 257,000 metric tons of corn to unknown destinations for 2025/2026 delivery.
Chicago Board of Trade May corn CK26 was last up 3-1/2 cents at $4.47 a bushel as of midday. CBOT May soybeans SK26 was last down 2-1/2 cents at $11.61 per bushel.
