Munich Re's Results Are a Mixed Bag -- Market Talk

Dow Jones02-26

0750 GMT - Munich Re's quarterly print is a messy mixed bag, Keefe, Bruyette & Woods says in a research note. The German reinsurer posted a property and casualty normalized undiscounted combined in line with expectations but added to its reserves in this division, analyst Darius Satkauskas writes in a research note. He adds that there was a reassuring positive variance in its life and health unit but that renewals look weak. The operating level beat came from the net financial result, he notes. The underlying details of the results are in focus since the group's net profit result for 2025 was in line with guidance.(elena.vardon@wsj.com)
