BRIEF-AWS Says Due To Ongoing Conflict In Middle East, Both Affected Regions Experienced Physical Impacts To Infrastructure As A Result Of Drone Strikes

March 2 (Reuters) -

  • AWS: DUE TO ONGOING CONFLICT IN MIDDLE EAST, BOTH AFFECTED REGIONS EXPERIENCED PHYSICAL IMPACTS TO INFRASTRUCTURE AS A RESULT OF DRONE STRIKES

  • AWS: THESE STRIKES HAVE CAUSED STRUCTURAL DAMAGE, DISRUPTED POWER DELIVERY TO OUR INFRASTRUCTURE

  • AWS: WE ARE WORKING CLOSELY WITH LOCAL AUTHORITIES AND PRIORITIZING THE SAFETY OF OUR PERSONNEL THROUGHOUT OUR RECOVERY EFFORTS

  • AWS: IN THE UAE, 2 FACILITIES WERE DIRECTLY STRUCK; IN BAHRAIN, DRONE STRIKE IN CLOSE PROXIMITY TO ONE FACILITY CAUSED PHYSICAL IMPACTS TO INFRA

  • AWS: EXPECT RECOVERY TO BE PROLONGED GIVEN THE NATURE OF THE PHYSICAL DAMAGE INVOLVED

  • AWS: AS WE WORK TO RESTORE THESE FACILITIES, ONGOING CONFLICT IN THE REGION MEANS BROADER OPERATING ENVIRONMENT IN MIDDLE EAST REMAINS UNPREDICTABLE
