Dow Jones03-04 15:49

0749 GMT - Continental shares have slightly underperformed versus tire-making peers this year. This is likely to continue today after the company reported guidance that missed expectations, Bernstein analysts write. Sales and adjusted EBIT margin expectations are below consensus, partly in ContiTech--which is set to be sold this year--but also in tires. Within tires, expectations for flat volumes and a 13%-14.5% margin is below peers, and the margin midpoint is below consensus at 14%. For 2026, the German company is guiding for group sales of 18.1 billion euros at the midpoint, slightly below consensus at 18.3 billion euros. Its margin guidance of 11.8% at the midpoint is slightly below consensus at 12%. This implies an EBIT around 3% below current consensus, the bank says. (dominic.chopping@wsj.com)
