1111 GMT - Companies need to understand how to use artificial intelligence to elevate what their employees can do instead of cutting jobs, Michael Weening, chief executive of cloud and software company Calix, says at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Last week, payments company Block, headed by Jack Dorsey, announced plans to lay off more than 4,000 employees due to AI. "I think AI should be refactored into a very different conversation because it can help lift our employees and help them transform our business," Weening says. (mauro.orru@wsj.com )
