Nvidia (NVDA) intends to introduce a new inference computing system featuring a processor created by startup Groq at a developer conference next month, The Wall Street Journal reported late Friday, citing people familiar with the plans.
The product is specifically designed to accelerate artificial intelligence query responses, and Microsoft-backed (MSFT) OpenAI agreed to become a primary customer for the platform, the report said.
Shares of the chipmaker were down by more than 1% in recent Monday premarket activity.
Nvidia and OpenAI did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
