The head of Rosatom, Russia's state-owned atomic entity, said the growing scope of violence in Iran was threatening the Russian-built nuclear power plant of Bushehr and that it planned to evacuate up to 200 employees.
"There is a threat to the power plant in so far that there are explosions audible only kilometers from the protective line of the plant," Rosatom head Alexey Likhachev told Russian state news agency TASS. "The threat is clearly growing as the conflict escalates." Around 700 Russian specialists work at the Iranian power plant, Likhachev said previously. Some 100 non-essential staff have already been evacuated.
