1031 ET - The conflict in the Middle East is showing the importance of military communication platforms, which should boost BlackSky Technology and Iridium Communications, say Oppenheimer analysts Timothy Horan and Daniel McDermott. "The communications environment in the Gulf is highly contested making relatively simple tasks like positioning and identification difficult," the analysts say. "Gross aerial mass is only increasing, and for both defensive and offensive purposes we reiterate the need for integrated platforms that can coordinate and orchestrate manned systems, unmanned systems, and central command." BlackSky and Iridium could benefit from the push for combining satellite technology with AI to provide communications, intelligence and navigation, the analysts say. (nicholas.miller@wsj.com)
